Escape 〰️ EDUCATE 〰️ CREATE 〰️

Each of our experiences are designed to provide hands-on, immersive opportunities to develop creative thinking skills and communicate with others. Escape rooms are unique and exciting outlets for kids to explore new atmospheres in a safe environment. From schools, to churches, to camps, and even the young-at-heart, there is no better way to get the gears turning. Pair your escape room adventures with our NEW hands-on Workshop Add-Ons for a sneak peek into our games!

Most events last around two hours after factoring in game rules, group photos, and perks. Events with Workshop Add-Ons should expect to stay for up to three hours.

book a field trip

players:

We have the ability to host up to 40 players at one time! Each of our four experiences vary in difficulty and theme, allowing the option to mix and match the games that are the perfect fit for your group. All four of our games have a capacity of 10 participants, and at least one chaperone will need to be present in each room for the entire duration of the game. Chaperones do count toward the player count for each room and do need to purchase a ticket. We are able to accommodate even larger groups by scheduling back-to-back games, with start times spaced at least two hours apart.

Field Trips were designed with players aged 10-15 in mind, but players of any age are welcome. Chaperones are not necessary for groups of players aged 16 and up. All players under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian sign a waiver for them in order to participate in the escape rooms and workshops.

PRICING:

Field Trips start at $350 for up to 10 players. Additional tickets are $30/each. Any combination of games can be reserved, but there must be at least 5 players in each game.

There is a $50 deposit required per game in order to hold the reservation. The deposit must be received at least one week prior to the event, or within 24 hours of scheduling the event - whichever comes first. Any remaining balance can be paid upon arrival.

Is your organization tax exempt? While tax exemptions, unfortunately, do not apply to the 7% Amusement Tax imposed by the City of Lynchburg, we are more than happy to apply a 10% off discount to help offset the cost! Just provide us with your ST-12 Form to claim this offer.

Adjustments to the number of players, start time, and more must be requested at least 24 hours in advance. Any alterations made with less than a 24-hour notice or made to events booked during business hours may not be able to be accommodated. No refunds for cancellations or no-shows. No refunds for adjustments resulting in a lower price if the total cost of the event has already been paid, but we will be happy to provide store credit via an eGift card.

perks:

Privacy & Flexibility: With our flexible scheduling, you can choose the start time that works best for you, and we will open specifically for your group! Your privacy is important to us, and playing outside of hours ensures you and your group will have the entire building to yourselves, regardless of group size. Feel free to make yourselves comfortable and use our lobby to store your backpacks, jackets, and other personal belongings while you play.

Extra Game Time: Stop focusing on the clock and start focusing on the FUN - all Field Trips come with the perk of up to an extra 20 minutes in your games. We want the kids to get their hands on as many puzzles as possible in order to help get their thinking caps on!

Goodie Bags: Every child will receive a complimentary gift bag to take home with them! Each bag may contain items such as a mini puzzle, stickers, a magnet, candy, and other fun goodies. Please let us know if you would like for the candy to be excluded due to allergies or any other concerns.

Presentation: Field Trips include a brief 15-minute presentation with behind-the-scenes information about our escape rooms. Students will learn the difference between linear and nonlinear puzzle flows, get their hands on various types of locks, view construction photos from some of our games, have the opportunity to ask questions, and more! (Please note: Presentations are hosted by the owner of One Way Out and are, therefore, subject to her availability. The earlier you book, the better!)

Lobby Rentals: Want to enjoy a lunch without needing to relocate? No problem! Field Trips booked outside of business hours and for up to 24 participants have the option to reserve our lobby before or after your games. Lobby Rentals start at $150 for the first hour, and each additional hour is $100. Tables and chairs as well as cleanup are included, but catering and decorating must be handled by you.

Workshop Add-Ons: Participate in up to four interactive and hands-on workshops! Each workshop focuses on a specific skill and takes place inside one of our escape rooms. Workshops start at $50/each (per workshop, not per person). Read below for more info!

workshop add-ons

COMING SOON! Now accepting bookings for as early as June 2025.

We have four different workshops to choose from, and each one focuses on a specific step of the design and construction process of building an escape room! Feel free to mix and match any of the workshops that interest you the most, but the number of workshops booked must be equal to or more than the number of escape rooms booked. Each workshop will last approximately 15 minutes, and all students will rotate through and experience every workshop booked. Workshops will take place after the escape rooms.

(Please note: Workshops are facilitated by the owner of One Way Out and are, therefore, subject to her availability. The earlier you book, the better!)

pricing:

Workshops are $50/workshop for up to 25 participants or $75/workshop for 26-40 participants. There is a $25 deposit required per workshop in order to hold the reservation. The deposit must be received at least one week prior to the event, or within 24 hours of scheduling the event - whichever comes first. Any remaining balance can be paid upon arrival.

Workshop Selections:

  • TECH BOOT CAMP: A look at how tech takes our puzzles to the next level! Get a peek at an Arduino model, a demonstration on how RFIDs work, and an opportunity to practice programming an RFID tag on your own. This workshop takes place in The Lost Professor with a focus on our fan-favorite Match Game puzzle in the same game.

  • SET DESIGN: A glimpse at how our sets look so authentic. Participate in a step-by-step art class that replicates the process we used to mimic the look of real stone found in some of our games; you can even take your masterpiece home! This workshop takes place in Paravell’s Three Keys with a focus on the famous Styrofoam walls in The Lost Professor.

  • ROOM WRITING: A peek into the writing room. Receive an explanation of how escape rooms are thought up and collaborate with the workshop host and your peers to design an escape room outline that you can take home with you. This workshop takes place in Railway Robbery with a focus on generalized puzzle flows, room layouts, and storylines.

  • PROP MAKING: A look at how custom props make our games unique! Learn about the construction of plastic props alongside a pouring demonstration - dress into lab coats and goggles to witness the creation of your very own keepsake keychains from start to finish. This workshop takes place in The Experiment with a focus on various props from every game. (Don’t worry; this workshop is completely safe, and the lab coats and goggles are just for fun!)
